The history of Camino Soria Wine is the story of a DREAM BECOMING TRUE by Jose Luis Sanz- Aeronautical Engineer, who in a moment of his professional life he left his successful career as Marketing Director in a large multinational company to pursue his passion, to develop a great wine from his own land, Soria, located in Ribera del Duero, in central area of Spain. Then, after becoming Master in Oenologist and Viticulture by the Polytechnic University of Madrid, he has elaborated a unique wine from a calcareous-limestone vineyard placed in Soria, under Ribera del Duero Origen Denomination, formed from clones native of Tempranillo variety, which gives us the highest expression of terroir.

Camino Soria Wine is in fact a new concept to enjoy an exclusive wine from Ribera del Duero produced in limited editions of less than 10.000 bottles per vintage from grapes of variaty Tempranillo, and aged in new oak barrels during more than 15 months (for more info please see VINEYARDS AND ELABORATION section as well as in the WINE CHRONICLES section)..

The variety with which we make our wines is the Tempranillo one, also called locally Tinta Tinta. We only work with native clones of Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, and adapted to the hard conditions of our land. Thus, our logo with the two warriors fighting expresses the resistance character of the grape, also fighting to survive in the extreme weather conditions of the area , going over 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Farenheit) during the day up to 5 degrees Celsius(41 degrees Farenheit) overnight in the maturity period. Indeed, these are Celtiberians warriors who lived in the area in the 3rd century BC, who fought till the end to avoid the entry of the Roman Empire in their land.
